Okay, so once i was reading a LOST magazine and thought the theories in it were quite interesting and was thinking about typing it up but i dunno where that ones gone so I'll type up the ones in this mag. YO PPLZ BETTER BE GREATFUL, INNIT, MAYTE!
I think there is a connection between LOST's Danielle Rousseau and the famous painter Henri Rousseau. His paintins depicated jungle scenes and were themed "Enchantment and menace." The scenes showed the beauty of a jungle, but within, lurking in the shadows, you can make out strange mysterious creatures...Coincidence? A famous quote about his paintings reads, "His jungle is the virgin forest with it's terrors and beauties, that we dream of as children....It is the virgin forest as a creation of fantasy." I think that sums up the island perfectly!
Ya know JUST after I read this we started studying a piece of artwork by Henri Rousseau in my art lesson and i was like lol. The piece was a tiger in a forest. So yeah, I think it's a cool idea dunno if the similarity was intended though *shrugs*
There has been a lot of talk about being sick on the island, and discussion about the stations serving as quarrantine and protection of the Dharma staff. There is also a theory that states the human race will over-populate in the very near future (shizz! =S ) Unless we cut down by population growth by a third. My theory is that Dharma was developing a virus that would wipe out one third of the population, and the "incident" they refer to happened when the virus got loose and infected the island population...
Hmmm....
I think when Desmond didn't push the button, it somehow caused the plane to split in two, because of the electromatic activity. One plane is in the dimension that we are aware of, and the other- is in another dimension This is why until recently no one could find the island!
Uh-huh..
I believe the people Naomi was representing in the season 3 finale were actually Alvar Hanso and the remaining Dharma initiative. I think Ben was recruiting the people Dharma sent over to the island until the hatch explosion in season 2, when communications broke down. Ben had Mikhail in The Flame with his Dharma uniform keeping them sweet, and making them believe Dharma were still in control. And where did the consignment of food come from in the Dave episode.
..I think the theories in the other mag were better but i cba to go lookin for it

Some of these aren't bad actually. It would explain Naomi's 'you've been found and are dead' thing. And the looking glass could have been blocking the inter-dimensional travellings (better than your current travellings) and now people are getting through! The Dharma theory also makes sense.
